LHWHS Sophomore to Play for U.S. Chess Team

Ladue Horton Watkins High School sophomore Jialin Ding was selected to play for the U.S. Chess Team at the 2011 World Youth Chess Championship to be held in Brazil from Nov. 17-27, 2011. He will compete in the “under 14 years old” section.

Jialin Ding is one of the top players in his age group nationally and was invited to compete in the prestigious 2011 U.S Junior Closed Championship last summer where the 10 most talented chess players in the country competed.Ding also tied for 3rd place in the U.S. High School Championships last summer.
