Old Bonhomme Elementary’s 30th Annual Giving Assembly a Success

Students and staff load boxes of canned food into a truck for delivery.

Old Bonhomme Elementary School contributed to four different local charities through their 2012 Annual Giving Campaign. Over 3,355 cans of food were collected for the Trinity Food Pantry. Over 60 boxes of clothing and household items, plus other bulk items were delivered to Family Haven (Salvation Army Shelter). In addition, 18 boxes of needed items were sent to the Crisis Nursery (Centene Center) and another 18 to KidSmart.

The assembly, held on Nov. 22, 2011, is the culmination of a 7-day collection period and is attended by the entire student body, representatives from each of the charities, members of district administration, as well as parents and community members. Representatives from the 5th grade, along with staff members, delivered the cans.
