Ladue Horton Watkins High School graduate Tara Siesener is currently playing Tracy Turnblad, the lead role in the musical Hairspray, aboard the Oasis of the Seas cruise ship. This is the first full scale Broadway production aboard a cruise ship and Siesener says, “I’m having a blast!” Siesener formerly played the role of Turnblad in the Las Vegas Company of Hairspray and is delighted to be continuing the role aboard the Oasis of the Seas.

Siesener, daughter of Ladue Middle School Science teacher Jean Siesener, began her theater training at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. While in St. Louis, she also danced with The St. Louis Academy of Dance and performed at THE MUNY, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Orthwein Theatre Company, Characters and Company and the Kirkwood Theatre.

Siesener continued her studies in theater at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. She moved to New York City in the fall of 2003 and was soon cast in a National Tour of Clifford the Big Red Dog-Live! Since then she has performed with Music Theatre of Connecticut, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, New World Stages in New York City, The Long Leaf Opera in Chapel Hill and in the National tour of The Wizard of Oz.
