Ladue Horton Watkins High School Senior Emily Bell has been invited to attend the Montgomery Bell Academy’s (MBA) Southern Bell Forum Extemporaneous Speaking Round Robin. MBA invited 20 students from across the country to participate in this prestigious event. There is no application or recommendation process; students are chosen based on their personal accomplishments in the field of Extemporaneous Speaking.
The Southern Bell Forum will take place in Nashville, Tennessee in January. Bell will compete against 19 other students in head to head rounds with the top ten advancing to the Exhibition Round and a Consolation Round for the remaining ten participants. MBA is bringing together some of the top ranked extemporaneous speakers in the country and it is sure to be an exciting weekend.
Bell, one of the extemporaneous speaking captains for the Talking Rams, is no stranger to intense competition. Earlier this semester she was selected to participate in the George Mason University Patriot Games Classic Extemporaneous Speaking Round Robin in which she took 5th place before earning 4th place in the open tournament. She has qualified to the National Forensic League National Tournament every year of her high school career and continues to impress coaches and competitors at the local and national level.
