Ladue Horton Watkins High School graduate Betsy Crowder has recently been accepted as an intern for a member of the German Parliament. She will be in Germany from March to August 2014 for this program funded by the German government through an International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) program. Betsy is also a 2013 graduate of Washington University.

The IPS program is aimed at highly qualified young men and women who are encouraged to return home after the program “to play an active and responsible role in shaping their countries’ democratic future.” Participating in the German Bundestag, or German Parliament, offers young people an opportunity to get to know the German parliamentary system and political decision-making processes and to gain practical experience in parliamentary work during this 15-week work placement with a Member of the Bundestag.
