The Missouri School Counselor Association honored Ladue Middle School’s Counselor Janey Worthington as its Middle School Counselor of the Year on Nov. 2, 2014, at Tan-Tar-A in the Lake of the Ozarks. Janey was selected for this recognition based upon the innovation she brings to her position, her leadership role and her service to Ladue Middle School, which was also recognized as a National School of Character.
One of her nominators stated of Janey, “There is always a noticeable difference in her classes: her students are kinder to one another, they are very familiar with the character program in the school, and they look out for each other and take care of one another.”
This award was open to multi-level school counselors from the state. With this recognition, Missouri has nominated Janey for the National School Counselor of the Year through the American School Counselor Association.
