State Treasurer Visits Old Bonhomme Second Graders

Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel talks with students.

On Oct. 7, 2014, Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel arrived at the Old Bonhomme Elementary School library to speak to second-graders about the importance of voting in elections.  Zweifel read the book Vote for Duck by Doreen Cronin which humorously explains the process of campaigning, voting, and even contesting an election.

This event was part of the Kids Voting program being coordinated at Old Bonhomme by teachers Susan Kelley and Patricia Brown.  The purposes of the program is to expose students to the democratic process of voting.  As part of the process, elementary students will participate in a mock election on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014.
