Jessica Ingraham, STL Symphony Youth Orchestra Manager and Secondary Programs Coordinator, contacted Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) Principal Brad Griffith with the great news… Seniors Rowan Faulkner and Elena Hammann; sophomores Cindy Geng, Nathan Hsu and Stephanie Zhong and freshmen Glen Morgenstern have been accepted into the prestigious program.
The St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra has a 45-year history of educating the region’s top young musicians, which is a huge accomplishment on the students’ part. Through participation in the Youth Orchestra, musicians will develop skills that go beyond the concert hall.
Kudos also go out to the LHWHS music education and instructors, Jeff Lindhorst, Aaron Lehde, and Scott Harris, for identifying and nurturing the students’ talents.
The first performance will be at Powell Hall on Friday, November 14, at 8 p.m. The next performances are scheduled for Sunday, March 22, 2015, at 3 p.m., and Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 8 p.m. Admission tickets for all of these Powell Hall performances is free, except for a $1 per ticket service fee.
