Steve Turner, class of 1969, is celebrating his 25th year in business with Solomon/Turner, a St. Louis public relations firm. Steve and his partner, Shelly Solomon, launched the firm in 1990 following a merger of their companies. The two also had a family merger, getting married as well.

“I ran a PR firm, The Turner Group, and Shelly had an advertising agency called S. Solomon & Associates. We actually did business together before we got married. It made sense to bring it all under one roof,” Turner said.

Originally, Solomon/Turner focused on providing graphic design, media buying, printed materials and publicity for clients from many industries.  “This was before the Internet when the focus was more on traditional marketing methods. Nearly all companies used article reprints, brochures, direct mail and sales pieces to drive business.”  Shift to 2015 and the emphasis is on a multimedia approach. This includes blogs, digital ads, email newsletters, search engine optimization, social media, video and website design.”

“Today we help businesses develop all encompassing campaigns with quality content, whether it be through articles and interviews, social media, special events, video creation, and/or web-based promotions.”

Steve stays in touch with many Ladue Horton Watkins High School grads and attends all reunions. “Several classmates are also our best friends. It’s great to see them succeed both personally and professionally.”
