LHWHS Students Dominate at District Career Development Competition

The Ladue Horton Watkins High School’s DECA chapter triumphed at the District Career Development Competition. Students placed first and second in 15 of the 16 events. The following DECA students will now compete in the DECA State Competition:

Senior Lee Goodman, Senior Brian Jiang, Senior Tushar Raj, Senior Chris Reichert, Senior Jack Proehl, Junior Ethan King, Junior Hanlu Jin, Junior Miriam Garcia, Junior Simi Falako, Junior Semhar Mekonnen, Junior Melanie Rush, Junior Preston Barrow, Junior David Owolabi, Junior Jackson Gould, Junior Zain Khan, Sophomore Michael Burke, Sophomore Francesca Di Cera, Sophomore Reilly Ahearn, Sophomore Diane Mwonga, Sophomore Nichole Goeckner, Sophomore Jessica Matson, Sophomore David Song, Sophomore Sophia Wu, Freshman Annie Zheng.

DECA is an international association that focuses on grooming high school and college students in the area of marketing, hospitality, management, finance and accounting.

In addition to the competitions, the Ladue DECA also has sponsored fundraisers to help send children with muscular dystrophy to the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s (MDA) summer camp.
