On Wednesday, May 13, 2015, the Ladue Middle School’s Diversity Cadre sponsored its tenth African-American Recognition night, which was designed to showcase African-American students’ talents and celebrate their accomplishments in the areas of academics, citizenship and school involvement.
This year, the Anthony Warren Memorial Scholarship was revitalized, named in honor of a beloved African American teacher who passed away after working at LMS for many years. Eighth-graders Kiara Crawford and Dale Chesson were chosen as Diversity Cadre Students of the Year. Both were awarded with a $50.00 stipend to use toward an educational camp or technology purchase, in addition to receiving plaques.
