LHWHS Speech/Debate Team Succeed at NCFL National Tournament

Seven Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) students competed in the National Catholic Forensic League’s National Tournament on May 23-24, 2015, at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Junior Simi Falako advanced to the Double Octafinals round in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate, placing her among the top thirty-two competitors.

The pairing of juniors Kyrollos Shenouda and Bobby Zitzmann resulted in a 4-1 record in the Public Forum Debate.

Other members representing the Talking Rams Team were:

  • Senior Benjamin Collinger in Extemporaneous Speaking
  • Juniors Renee Colby in Original Oratory and Huayu Gao in Lincoln-Douglas Debate
  • Sophomore Faris Ali in Extemporaneous Speaking

The team will end its 2014-15 season at the National Speech & Debate Association Tournament in Dallas, Texas on June 15-19, 2015.
