Patricia Brown, the technology integration coach at Old Bonhomme School, was chosen to participate in a professional development event this summer hosted by Discovery Educator Network.
From July 12 to 17, Brown and 127 other educators from the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom will converge for the 2015 DEN Summer Institute at the American University in Washington, D.C. The participants will attend seminars and hands-on workshops that highlight the latest technologies for the classroom. Educators will also be encouraged to share resources and expertise regarding modern learning strategies.
Brown said she felt honored to have been chosen for the event.
“Professional development events like DENSI are great, because they show me new techniques and strategies for improving teaching and learning I can use as soon as I return to my school,” she said in a news release.
Brown has held her position at the elementary school since 2010.
She posted on her technology blog that she found out about her selection for the event in April via Twitter. To see more of what Brown is up to, visit her blog.
