Congratulations to Ladue Horton Watkins High School Senior Jacqueline Wong, who was honored at the 2015 Gold Medal Ceremony at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on June 17, 2015!
The Congressional Award Gold Medal is awarded to students who set goals and excel in four areas of individual growth: Volunteer Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness and Expedition/Exploration.
Jackie worked for two years to conquer goals in each of the four areas. During this time, she completed 400 hours of volunteer service in her community and met goals that included more than 200 hours in the areas of physical fitness and personal development. She also planned and executed a four-night exploration of the Pacific Northwest.
Jackie also met U.S. Senators Claire McCaskill and Roy Blunt of Missouri during her visit to Washington, D.C.
Only seven students in Missouri were awarded the medal this year.
