Grand Opening of New Path at Reed Elementary School

Reed's principal and staff cut the ribbon for the new path.

After years of planning, the Reed Path is now a reality! The grand opening for the path was held Friday, Sept. 18, 2015.

“The path will do much more than promote a healthy lifestyle,” Reed Principal Chris Schreiner said. “It will provide a place for brain breaks for all students and interventions for specific students to help them be more focused and ready to learn in the general classrooms.”

Reed Path will also provide a place for after-school opportunities that encourage and include physical fitness, like Girls on the Run. The project will also foster the relationship between the elementary school, parents and the community by providing yet another way to welcome all stakeholders to Reed. The Reed School Association funded the project.

So, what is Reed Path missing? An official name! Students are charged with submitting their ideas for the name to the physical education coaches by Wednesday, September 22. The names will be narrowed down to the top three, and a schoolwide vote will determine the name! Check back in to find out the decision!
