Ladue Schools’ Boy’s Varsity Tennis Head Coach Named State Coach of the Year

Margaret Junker receives her award.

Congratulations to Ladue Schools’ Head Coach for Boy’s Varsity Tennis, Margaret Junker, who has been named State Coach of the Year! The announcement was made at the 2015 Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015.

Each year, the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) recognize one coach in each sport from each state with this award. The honor is bestowed to individuals who have made a commitment to the ideals of coaching interscholastic sports. Not only is success in the sport recognized, but also the manner in which the success was achieved.

“We are proud to have very driven and talented coaches like Margaret in our school, and she more than deserves this recognition,” Principal Brad Griffith said. “This was Margaret’s first year as head coach, and the hard work she’s put into her role is already paying off.”

Margaret was a two-time state champion tennis player at St. Joseph’s Academy and later received All-American Status playing doubles for Rollins College in Florida. She returned to St. Louis to serve as an assistant tennis coach at St. Joseph’s Academy and Rockwood Summit before taking up the position of head coach for both Ladue’s Girls and Boys Varsity Tennis Teams for the 2014-2015 seasons.
