Ladue Horton Watkins High School Laduettes Are No. 1 in the Nation for Hip Hop

This Sunday, Feb. 28, the Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) Laduettes danced their way to the top at the National Dance Alliance’s National Competition in Orlando, Florida. The pom and dance team won first place in the nation for hip hop with a score of 91.33 – the highest score out of over 20 teams from across the U.S. in the hip hop category for medium-sized schools. The team also placed No. 8 in the nation in the Pom category.

Laduettes bust a move for FOX 2

“These girls have proven that hard work, determination and teamwork combined make great things happen,” said Principal Brad Griffith. “Our school and district couldn’t be more proud of their drive and their accomplishment. Congratulations, ladies.”

The team also placed first in hip hop and second in poms at the 2016 St. Charles Classic Dance Competition. This is the sixth year the team has qualified for nationals.
