Congratulations to Rasika Sant for being named a recipient of the 2016 Award for Outstanding Achievement in Citizenship through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education! Rasika is one of only 15 students across the state chosen for this honor.
Rasika was nominated for her academic excellence in government/civics courses, her participation and leadership in extracurricular activities related to government/civics and her community service. Each high school in the state is able to nominate one student.
Applications are reviewed by a committee made up of members from the Missouri Bar Advisory Committee on Citizenship Education, the Missouri Council for the Social Studies, the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals, the State Board of Education, and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Rasika was recognized at a luncheon in Jefferson City where she was honored by the Missouri State Board of Education and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
