Ladue Middle School Students Advance to National Math Counts Competition

On Saturday, March 12, seven Ladue Middle School students competed in the State Math Counts competition in Columbia, Missouri. All of the students placed in the Top 25, and five placed in the Top 10 as individuals!

Will Bender (6) – 1st
Jeremy Ouyang (8) – 4th
Anna Zhong (8) – 5th
Stephen Jiang (7) – 6th
Jason Ding (7) – 8th
William Pan (7) – 19th
Harry Chen (7) – 23rd

In the Countdown Round, Stephen Jiang placed 1st, Anna Zhong placed 2nd, and Jeremy Ouyang placed 3rd.

The LMS team of Jeremy Ouyang, Anna Zhong, Stephen Jiang, and Jason Ding placed 1st in the team competition.

The top four students in the state advance to the national competition. Will Bender and Jeremy Ouyang have won an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. from May 7- 10. Seventh-grade math teacher Nancy Chambers will accompany these students and coach the state team.
