Two LHWHS girls were involved in the St. Louis Community Foundation this year, a collective grant-making group of high school girls. The organization awarded a $3,600 grant to Caroline Mission Early Childhood Education Program at the second annual grant celebration on Sunday, April 24.
Jessie Steinbaum (11) and Rose Coughlin (9) were two of 36 members. Each girl gave $100 and collectively determined the grantee after a year-long process of reviewing the grant proposals, site visits and learning about grant making.
The grant awarded will provide baby items for infants at the Caroline Mission.
This is the second year the group has been formed, and the girls have given a total of $6,300 to the St. Louis community.
