C-SPAN rolled up in their tour bus at LHWHS for a visit on Friday, Sept. 21! C-SPAN (Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network) was created in 1979 to offer public affairs programming. The non-partisan network televises the proceedings of the United States federal government. The network is currently on their 50 States Tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the C-SPAN bus, and they are visiting a small number of schools in each state. LHWHS was chosen as one of the schools in Missouri!
Students had the opportunity to meet C-SPAN staff, learn about the programming and services of the network and learn about the student documentary competition. Juniors and seniors in the U.S. Government and Politics and the Broadcast Journalism program took part in the event. Check out photos from the event below!
