Broadcast Technology Students Take Part in First Amendment Show on HEC Media

The two students pose for a photo at the HEC-TV studio.

Two Ladue High School Broadcast Technology students recently took part in a professional television show through HEC Media (formerly HEC-TV.) Senior Marilyn Lercel was an interactivity reporter on set asking questions of guests, including Mary Beth Tinker of the landmark Supreme Court case, Tinker vs. Des Moines, as well as providing a news package about the New Voices legislation, offering First Amendment rights to students. Sophomore Paris Hamilton was a camera operator and stage manager for all the programming throughout the day of shows.

Here is the program about the First Amendment including Mary Beth Tinker discussing her court case and the right of free speech. Viewers will see Marilyn, but Paris was behind the camera!
