Spoede Elementary Second Grade Teacher Jessica Moore Recognized with December Excellence in Education Award

Jessica Moore, a second grade teacher at Spoede Elementary, received the December Excellence in Education Award at the Dec. 10, 2018, Board of Education meeting. Congratulations to Jessica on this prestigious recognition!

Jessica has been a member of the Ladue Schools team since August of 2011, when she took her position as a teaching assistant at Spoede Elementary. During her time here, she has also taught third grade.

Some people are born to teach, and some learn to teach. Jessica is a natural. Her students know that she loves them and will do absolutely anything she can to help them learn and grow.

She connects with all of her students, no matter their skills or background. The time and energy that Jessica invests into her teaching is evident through the strong relationships she has fostered with her students.

Jessica not only has the heart and determination to make a difference in her students’ lives, but she also knows how to keep learning fun along the way. She has this amazing sense of humor she uses with her students, and they love the light-hearted atmosphere she cultivates.

Jessica is well-deserving of this award— she is an outstanding educator for her advocacy for students and her above-and-beyond work to help them achieve their goals.

Jessica is originally from St. Louis. She and her husband, Matt, have been married five years and have two sons: 4-year-old Charlie, who attends the Ladue Early Childhood Center, and one-year-old Jack.

Jessica earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of Dayton. She then went on to receive her master’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading from the University of Missouri- St. Louis (UMSL).
