Congratulations to Superintendent Dr. Donna Jahnke, who was presented with the 2019 Missouri Music Education Association (MMEA) Outstanding Administrator Award at the annual MMEA Conference in Osage Beach on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019!
The MMEA Outstanding Administrator Award is presented to recognize a school administrator who has demonstrated exemplary support of music education.
“Donna’s strong leadership in music education comes not just from policies she had helped set in place, and her support of our new music facilities, but her personal support of our district’s musical performances,” high school music teacher Aaron Lehde said. “Our students, parents, and faculty — indeed our entire community — sees her at these events and know that music and the arts are valued! Her actions speak loudly and clearly demonstrate how important music is in the Ladue School District.”
The LHWHS Band and Orchestra were both selected to play at the state convention this year (from audition recordings submitted last spring). Dr. Jahnke introduced the ensembles and received her award before the Ladue Orchestra concert.
