Ladue Horton Watkins High School Students Named As Top 20 Finalists and Invited to Missouri Governor’s Mansion

On April 27-30, nine students from Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) attended the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando, FL. The annual conference provides skills-based competition for emerging leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world. This year, a record-breaking 20,000 members and advisors attended the conference, including students from China, Spain, Honduras, Pakistan and more.

The results of the conference were as follows:

Aidan Oiknine (10)– Innovation Plan- Written Plan and Oral Presentation (the Innovation Plan Event involves the idea generation and opportunity recognition needed to take advantage of market opportunities to introduce a new business, product, or service)
Erik Tkachenko (10) and Josh Wolk (10)– Integrated Marketing Campaign Event- Written Plan, Oral Presentation, and Marketing Exam (includes a campaign that is related to any sports and entertainment event and/or company event)
Ayushya Ajmani (11) – Business Services Marketing
Ria Dharnidharka (11) and Shale Kennedy (11) – Buying and Merchandising Operations Research
Madeline Stout (11) – Principles of Business Management and Administration
Congratulations to all of our students on such an outstanding performance at this year’s conference!
Additionally, following their impressive showing at the DECA Conference, Joshua Wolk and Erik Tkachenko were invited to attend the Excellence in Marketing Education Reception on May 15. The event was held at the Governor’s mansion in Jefferson City, MO, where Joshua and Erik were honored by Missouri’s Commissioner of Education, Dr. Margie Vandeven.
