Ladue Horton Watkins High School Announces 2020 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

Ladue Horton Watkins High School (LHWHS) is thrilled to announce that 14 of its students have placed as National Merit Scholarship semifinalists in the 2020 program. Congratulations to Shelei Pan (12), Gavin Giuliani (12), Carlos Puyo (12), Christopher Ye (12), Jeremy Ouyang (12), Matthew Shareshian (12), Cindy Wang (12), Katherine Shaw (12), Lilly Tung (12), Will Stappenbeck (12), Michael Wayne (12), Anna Zhong (12), Kashish Dhawan (12), and Jacob Sheldon (12).

More than 1.5 million juniors from 22,000 high schools nationwide entered the 2020 program by taking the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Of these students, 16,000, or less than 1 percent of the nation’s high school seniors, qualified as semifinalists by being among the highest-scoring entrants in each state. The number of semifinalists in each state is proportional to the state’s percentage of the national total of graduating seniors.
