Girls Swim & Dive Team Fight for State Championship

The Girls Swimming & Diving Team are in a fierce battle for 1st Place at the Class 1 State Championships.  Co-Captain Sophie Fredman (12) broke the school record, yet again, in the preliminaries of the 100 Breaststroke (down to 1:07.53) to be seeded 4th going into the finals on Friday morning (10:00am-12:00noon) at the St. Peters Recs Plex.  She is also seeded 7th in the 100 Butterfly along with Talia Warticovschi (11) in 6th place.  Co-Captain Harriet Bezzant (12) is seeded 10th in both the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle.  Mary Dieckhaus (11) is seeded 8th in the 100 Backstroke and 10th in the 200 Individual Medley. All three Ladue relays are in the Final (Top 8) Heat. Samantha Fischer (11)  finished 6th in the diving final Friday evening with a score of 376.90, good enough to submit an application to be considered for NISCA All-American status. Four teams are within striking distance of capturing the 1st Place State Crown with Ladue closely in the hunt. ‘Due time!
