LHWHS Sophomore to Attend USA Computing Olympiad Training Camp

Anthony Wang is a sophomore at Ladue Horton Watkins High School

Congratulations to Anthony Wang, a sophomore at Ladue Horton Watkins High School, who will attend the USA Computing Olympiad training camp in May 2020 with a full scholarship.

Anthony is one of 26 nationwide finalists and the first student in Missouri to be awarded this honor since 2015.

The top four students at the training camp will represent the US in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), the most prestigious international computing contest at the high school level. Yang Liu, now a Ladue alum, represented the United States at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2014 and 2015.

Anthony would like to thank the staff and his teachers in the district, especially Dr. Pais. Dr. Pias sponsors two activities that Anthony benefits from, Ladue Computer Science Club and Math Club.

Moving forward, Anthony plans to use his expertise to help others. Anthony and his friend have plans to start an initiative to help young women and minorities code and are setting up a nonprofit organization. Anthony hopes to study computer science and applied math in college.

Good luck, Anthony!
