Katie Tonn Nominated for Best Buddies Champion of the Year

Katie Tonn, a senior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School, is one of five finalists for the title of Best Buddies Champion of the Year in Missouri.

Best Buddies is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities; Katie is the president of the Best Buddies chapter in Ladue.

The Champion of the Year program is a fundraising campaign that helps spread awareness of Best Buddies’ mission.

Katie was chosen as a finalist based on her community and philanthropic leadership along with her passion for creating a more inclusive society.

Five finalists are chosen for the honor, and one will be crowned Grand Champion at the organization’s Virtual Champion of the Year Gala on Oct. 29.
