Juniors Take Top Spot at CCSC Programming Competition

A group of three LHWHS juniors bested a field of collegiate teams at the 2020 Consortium for Computing Sciences in College Eastern Conference Programming Competition on Oct. 24.

The team of Michael Cao, Samuel Chen, and Anthony Wang, all members of the school’s Computer Science Club, placed first out of 23 teams in the virtual event.

Competitors were given a series of programming problems that could be solved using either Java or C++.

Teams were scored based on the number of problems solved and the total time used to solved them.

The LHWHS trio was the only team to solve nine problems out of the entire field.
