LHWHS Field Hockey Coach Lynsey Porter has been named the 2020 Janet Esrock Coach of the Year by the St. Louis Field Hockey Association.
Porter has coached the team for the last three seasons and led the team to a 5-5 record in 2020.
“When I took over the team in 2018, their previous year’s record was 3-19. Since then our record is now 31-19 spread out over the three years I have been here,” Porter said.
“This is a huge credit to my coaching staff and the athletes. They make it fun, keep me inspired, and work hard every day! They have trusted the process since day one and it has really paid off! I look forward to leading this team for many years to come.”
Four LHWHS student-athletes were named All-Conference selections this season under Porter’s guidance.
Porter has an extensive background in field hockey, having started playing at the age of six in the United Kingdom.
She later played collegiately in Scotland before moving to the United States and playing three years at Lindenwood University.
Porter has coached at the club level since 2012; her current club, Gateway, is ranked in the top six in the country.
