LECC Donates to Choose Love Movement

The Ladue Early Childhood Center recently donated $441 to the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement after organizing a schoolwide t-shirt sale.

The school was inspired to act by Scarlett Lewis, who founded Choose Love in honor of her son Jesse, who lost his life at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.

Lewis spoke to the Ladue Schools community in January and again at a district professional development session in February; she focuses on helping schools “choose love” and strengthen their social-emotional curriculum.

After her presentation, LECC staff decided to have shirts made that students, parents, and other staff could order.

The school sold more than 100 shirts and donated all proceeds to the organization.

The donation will help Lewis continue to share her message with schools and communities across the country.
