Twenty Ladue Middle School students competed in the Mathleague.org Missouri Middle School State Championship on Saturday, March 20.
Five students, Sanjay Adireddi (7), Aaron Lin (7), Steven Shaw (6), Anthony Zhao (7), and Celina Zhou (7), all scored high enough to advance to the Middle School National Championship in June.
Shaw finished in second place overall for sixth grade students in Missouri; Aaron Lin and Anthony Zhao received first and fifth place, respectively, among Missouri seventh-graders.
Lin took home second place and Shaw won sixth place in the overall competition, which included all three middle school grade levels.
In addition, three LMS students (pictured) have qualified for the virtual MATHCOUNTS National Championship from May 8 to 10.
Aaron Lin (1st place), Alex Wang (7th grade, 3rd place), and Anthony Zhao (4th place) scored well enough at the state championship on March 25 and will move on to the national event.
This is the second consecutive year Lin has won the MATHCOUNTS State Championship.
