The LHWHS Speech & Debate Team has earned a coveted award from the National Speech & Debate Association.
The Talking Rams have been recognized with the Leading Chapter Award for the NSDA’S Eastern Missouri District.
It is the highest recognition a school can receive from the NSDA and is based on student participation throughout the school year.
Only the top school in accumulated members and degrees in each district earns the designation each year; LHWHS is one of only 108 recipients out of 3,000 member schools nationwide to receive this year’s award.
The award reflects Ladue Horton Watkins High School’s 838 speech and debate team members and degrees over the last eight years.
Through speech and debate, students learn communication, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills.
The Leading Chapter Award serves as an indication of LHWHS’ dedication to its students and their speech and debate education.
