Alexandra Cox Earns President’s Volunteer Service Award

LHWHS sophomore Alexandra Cox has earned the President’s Volunteer Service Award from the National Charity League (NCL) for her volunteer efforts.

Cox received the award from the St. Louis Gateway Chapter of the NCL for volunteering more than 75 hours in the community.

Eleven LHWHS students have earned the award this year.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is given in three different categories:

Gold Award, given to volunteers age 11-15 with more than 100 hours of service and volunteers age 16-25 with more than 250 hours of service

Silver Award, given to volunteers age 11-15 with between 75-99 hours of service and volunteers age 16-25 with between 175-249 hours of service

Bronze Award, given to volunteers age 11-15 with between 50-74 hours of service and volunteers age 16-25 with between 100-174 hours of service

The local chapter of the National Charity League is a mother-daughter volunteer organization that provides service and support to more than 25 nonprofits throughout the St. Louis region, and a progressive Leadership Development program for the girls throughout their six years of service.

The National Charity League is comprised of more than 200,000 members and alumnae serving 287 chapters in 31 states; members volunteer more than three million hours to more than 6,000 charities nationwide.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award program began in 2003; the award is given through various service organizations that serve as Certifying Organizations.
