LMS Shines at State MATHCOUNTS Competition

Ladue Middle School was well-represented by nine students at the Missouri MATHCOUNTS Competition on March 12 at the University of Missouri.

Aaron Lin (8), Alex Wang (8), Jason Shi (8), and Newman Shen (7) took first place in the team competition.

The individual results for the nine LMS students were as follows:

  • Lin, 1st place
  • Wang, 2nd place
  • Anthony Zhao (8), 3rd place
  • Steven Shaw (7), 5th place
  • Shi, 6th place
  • Shen, 8th place
  • Sanjay Adireddi (8), 11th place
  • Celina Zhou (8), 19th place
  • Ayden Huang (6) placed in the top 30% of competitors

Additionally, the one-on-one speed round results were as follows:

  • Lin, 1st place
  • Adireddi, 2nd place
  • Shi, 3rd place

Lin, Wang, and Zhao, along with the state’s 4th place finisher, will travel to Washington, D.C. in May to represent Missouri in the National MATHCOUNTS Competition.

The Missouri team will be coached by LMS teacher and Math Club coordinator Hannah Shayer-McLeod.
